A good note is one you can find and understand later. These seven habits make your online notepad work for you.
1. Write one idea per note
Short, focused notes are easier to search, pin and reuse than one giant document.
2. Use clear titles
Start titles with the topic, e.g. “Meeting – Q4 budget”. Search and alphabetical sorting become much more useful.
3. Pick a category straight away
Personal, Work, Ideas, To-do – a two-second choice that saves minutes later.
4. Pin what is active
Pin the notes you need this week. Unpin them when done so the top of your list stays meaningful.
5. Capture first, tidy later
Press Alt+N, type, and move on. Clean up during a review.
6. Review weekly
Spend ten minutes each week merging, deleting and re-categorizing. The Note Bin keeps a safety net.
7. Back up what matters
Download important notes as .txt files so you always have a copy.
